Logo Released as Part of Swachhata Hi Seva Activities in Purathur Grama Panchayat

Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) is a nationwide public cleanliness campaign organized as part of observing October 2, Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, as Swachh Bharat Diwas. This campaign has been conducted every year since 2017. The core theme of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 is "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag: Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat," which translates to the idea of achieving a Clean India and a Developed India through everyone's participation in cleanliness. It aims at collective action with the involvement of the general public.

In Kerala, these public sanitation activities are being implemented with community participation under the title and concept "Kaiyodu Kai" (Hand in Hand). The primary goal of the "Kaiyodu Kai" initiative is for everyone to join hands and step forward in cleanliness efforts. Led by local self-government institutions, the initiative ensures the participation of public representatives, officials, Haritha Karma Sena, Kudumbashree, students, youth, voluntary organizations, the business community, various government departments, and the general public.

The SHS 2026 campaign is scheduled to run from September 17, 2026, to October 02, 2026. As part of the campaign, special priority will be given to:

• Transformation of cleanliness target units
• Cleaning of public spaces
• Student and youth participation
• Source segregation of waste
• Public participation
• Activities promoting "Waste to Wealth / Prosperity"

As the first phase of these efforts, the Grama Panchayat officially released the logo on 18/09/2026.
