Organizational Structure of the Grama Panchayat

Grama Panchayat President

The chief administrative head of the Panchayat; provides leadership for development activities and administrative functions.

Vice President

Assists in administrative activities; discharges administrative duties in the absence of the President. Standing Committees Committees responsible for overseeing development, finance, health, and education.

Standing Committees:

Development Standing Committee

Implements development projects; aims at public welfare and the development of basic infrastructure.

Finance Standing Committee

Manages the Panchayat's revenue and expenditure.

Health and Education Committee

Oversees health and education-related activities.

Welfare Standing Committee

Implements public welfare schemes; focuses on social security and welfare activities.

Other Sub-committees

Formed to handle activities in specific areas; they provide support for various projects.

Panchayat Secretary

The Secretary is the principal administrative officer of the Panchayat. They coordinate office operations, file processing, and general administration.

Assistant Secretary

Assists with administrative and office functions. Responsibilities include coordinating Kudumbashree and welfare schemes, as well as implementing Scheduled Caste development projects.

Head Clerk

Manages daily office operations, file processing, and staff supervision.

Head Accountant

Handles financial transactions, income and expenditure accounts, budgeting, taxation, and financial records.

Senior Clerk

Coordinates office records, administrative procedures, the functioning of various sections, and file scrutiny.

Clerk

Handles files and documents. Manages tax collection, applications, office registers, and ward-level services.

Office Attendant

Assists with office operations, such as transporting documents and organizing the office.

1. Grama Sabha:

A general assembly of the people of the Panchayat. It discusses development projects and public needs, and submits recommendations.

2. Grama Panchayat Committee:

An administrative body comprising elected representatives.

3. President & Vice President:

The principal administrative leaders of the Panchayat; they provide leadership for administrative activities.

4. Standing Committees:
